This is a great message for anyone who may think there is no return from their mistakes.
"I do not know who in this vast audience today may need to hear the message of forgiveness inherent in this parable [of the laborers in the vineyard], but however late you think you are, however many chances you think you have missed, however many mistakes you feel you have made or talents you think you don’t have, or however far from home and family and God you feel you have traveled, I testify that you have not traveled beyond the reach of divine love. It is not possible for you to sink lower than the infinite light of Christ’s Atonement shines."
-Elder Jeffrey R. Holland, "The Laborers in the Vineyard", General Conference, Apr. 2012
I like this reminder that the Atonement is our "essential family curriculum."
"The message, ministry, and Atonement of Jesus Christ, our Savior, is our essential family curriculum. No scripture characterizes our faith better than 2 Nephi 25:26: 'And we talk of Christ, we rejoice in Christ, we preach of Christ, we prophesy of Christ, and we write according to our prophecies, that our children may know to what source they may look for a remission of their sins.'"
-Elder Quentin L. Cook, "In Tune with the Music of Faith", General Conference, Apr. 2012
I agree with President Monson. I cannot fathom what Christ did for me, but I am grateful each day.
"I believe that none of us can conceive the full import of what Christ did for us in Gethsemane, but I am grateful every day of my life for His atoning sacrifice in our behalf. ... The darkness of death can ever be dispelled by the light of revealed truth. ‘I am the resurrection, and the life,’ spoke the Master. ‘He that believeth in me, though he were dead, yet shall he live: And whosoever liveth and believeth in me shall never die.’"
- President Thomas S. Monson,"He Is Risen: A Prophet’s Testimony," Liahona, Apr. 2012
This message is important to me because it explains that the Atonement provides us with an opportunity, but we have to make and keep covenants for the eternal reward.
“We understand that the Atonement of Jesus Christ gives us the opportunity to overcome the spiritual death that results from sin and, through making and keeping sacred covenants, to have the blessings of eternal life."
- Elder Dallin H. Oaks, “Teachings of Jesus,” General Conference, Oct 2011.
I like that Elder Holland emphasizes the importance of the Atonement for the church.
"Indeed the Atonement of the Only Begotten Son of God in the flesh is the crucial foundation upon which all Christian doctrine rests and the greatest expression of divine love this world has ever been given. Its importance in The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints cannot be overstated. Every other principle, commandment, and virtue of the restored gospel draws its significance from this pivotal event."
- Elder Jeffrey R. Holland, "The Atonement of Jesus Christ," Liahona, Mar. 2008
I chose this quote because Elder Nelson makes clear the Atonement is central for all mankind, not just members of the church.
"The Atonement of Jesus Christ is the central act of all human history. It is the core of the plan of salvation. Without the infinite Atonement, all mankind would be irretrievably lost. Temple ordinances and covenants teach of the redeeming power of the Atonement."
- Elder Russell M. Nelson, “Prepare for the Blessings of the Temple,” Liahona, Oct. 2010
This message reminds me of what I can learn from the Atonement.
"His Atonement, Resurrection, and example teach us to have faith in Him, repent, make covenants, and love one another. Jesus Christ is the light that never faileth—the bright light that will pierce the darkness."
- Elder Jeffrey R. Holland
“Charity Never Faileth”: A Discussion on Relief Society,” Liahona, Mar. 2011
Great reminder for me that the blessings of the Atonement are not fully available unless I live worthily.
"All the imponderable blessings of the Atonement can be given only to those who live the principles and receive the ordinances of the gospel—faith in Jesus Christ, repentance, baptism, receiving the Holy Ghost, and enduring to the end."
- Elder L. Tom Perry, "Bring Souls unto Me," General Conference, Apr. 2009.
I found this quote to be valuable when I was struggling to fulfill my calling.

"The enabling power of the Atonement strengthens us to do and be good and to serve beyond our own individual desire and natural capacity."
- Elder David A. Bednar, "The Atonement and the Journey of Mortality," CES Devotional, BYU, Apr. 2012
This quote gave me a feeling of gratitude for the Savior. It is because of Him that we can live again.
"This infinite Atonement would release man from the infinitude of death (see 2 Nephi 9:7). The Savior’s Atonement made the resurrection a reality and eternal life a possibility for all. His Atonement became the central act of all human history."
