Faith

I found this interesting because President Eyring notes that our faith is strengthened by consistently doing what's right.
"Our choosing the right consistently whenever the choice is placed before us, creates the solid ground under our faith."
- President Henry B. Eyring, "Mountains to Climb," General Conference, Apr. 2012

This is great counsel to anyone that may feel alone. It reminds us that if we have faith in Jesus Christ, we can do anything.
"Wherever you now find yourself on the road of discipleship, you are on the right road, the road toward eternal life. Together we can lift and strengthen one another in the great and important days ahead. Whatever the difficulties confronting us, the weaknesses confining us, or the impossibilities surrounding us, let us have faith in the Son of God, who declared, 'All things are possible to him that believeth.'"
—Elder Neil L. Andersen, "What Thinks Christ of Me?", General Conference, Apr. 2012

I have found myself often lacking faith. I liked how Elder Cook explains what happens when we lack faith.
"Please understand that faith in the Lord Jesus Christ and keeping His commandments is and always will be the defining test of mortality. Above all else, each of us must realize that when one is tone deaf to the music of faith, he or she is out of tune with the Spirit. As the prophet Nephi taught, 'Ye have heard his voice … ; and he hath spoken unto you in a still small voice, but ye were past feeling, that ye could not feel his words.'"
—Elder Quentin L. Cook, "In Tune with the Music of Faith", General Conference, Apr. 2012

I chose this quote because it reminds me that faith is built by our choices and with that faith, we are never alone.
"If we have faith in Jesus Christ, the hardest as well as the easiest times in life can be a blessing. In all conditions, we can choose the right with the guidance of the Spirit. We have the gospel of Jesus Christ to shape and guide our lives if we choose it. And with prophets revealing to us our place in the plan of salvation, we can live with perfect hope and a feeling of peace. We never need to feel that we are alone or unloved in the Lord’s service, because we never are. We can feel the love of God. The Savior has promised angels on our left and our right, to bear us up. And He always keeps His word."
—President Henry B. Eyring, "Mountains to Climb", General Conference, Apr. 2012

This was great counsel from Elder Scott on how I can try and strengthen my faith.
"...Every time you try your faith, that is, act in worthiness on an impression, you will receive the confirming evidence of the Spirit. Those feelings will fortify your faith. As you repeat that pattern, your faith will become stronger."
- Elder Richard G. Scott, "The Sustaining Power of Faith in Times of Uncertainty and Testing," Liahona, May 2003.

Short, sweet and to the point. Faith is a choice.
"Faith is not only a feeling; it is a decision."
- Elder Neil A. Anderson, "You Know Enough," General Conference, Oct. 2008.

This reminded me that it is my faith that can help me through trials.
"As disciples of the Lord Jesus Christ, we have enormous spiritual reservoirs of light and truth available to us. … In our days of difficulty, we choose the road of faith."
- Elder Neil A. Anderson, "You Know Enough," General Conference, Oct. 2008.

I liked this counsel from Elder Hales and know that I need to heed this counsel more often.
"We cannot find Enos-like faith without our own wrestle before God in prayer. I testify that the reward is worth the effort. Remember the pattern: (1) hear the word of God, spoken and written by His servants; (2) let that word sink deep into your heart; (3) hunger in your soul for righteousness; (4) obediently follow gospel laws, ordinances, and covenants; and (5) raise your voice in mighty prayer and supplication, asking in faith to know that Jesus Christ is our Savior."
- Elder Robert D. Hales, "Finding Faith in the Lord Jesus Christ," General Conference, Oct. 2004.

These words have helped me many times and each time I doubt, this quote comes to mind.
"We cannot know what faith is if we have never had it, and we cannot obtain it as long as we deny it. Faith and doubt cannot exist in the same mind at the same time, for one will dispel the other."
- President Thomas S. Monson, "Come unto Him in Prayer and Faith," Liahona, Mar. 2009.

As a member of the church, I am working on living my life this way. Without fear.
"Our doctrine is clear; we are to be positive and of good cheer. We emphasize our faith, not our fears. We rejoice in the Lord’s assurance that He will stand by us and give us guidance and direction. The Holy Ghost testifies to our hearts that we have a loving Father in Heaven, whose merciful plan for our redemption will be fulfilled in every aspect because of the atoning sacrifice of Jesus Christ."
—Elder Quentin L. Cook, "In Tune with the Music of Faith", General Conference, Apr. 2012
